A professor of mine advised that no bridge is worth burning—you never know when you could be in need of an old associate. Know your worth and don’t stick around where you’re not valued, but definitely remember: when you do it by yourself you limit yourself. It can be exhausting, always being the bigger person, but like any good exercise, the results are worth it. Practice patience on your route to wisdom as well as responding as opposed to reacting. Developing this trait will serve you well as time progresses. If you find yourself confronting conflict, try to be as disarming as possible. You’ll find that your communication skills will increase exponentially. Look for an opportunity to learn from every mishap! And remember every confrontation has the potential to be constructive.
